The Youth For Youth Team
Youth For Youth's dedicated team includes a wide variety of passionate and dedicated professionals, volunteers and trustees.
We also count youth leaders (young people who have previously been attending our programmes as participants) as an important part of our hardworking staff.

Josephine Genetay -- Founder and Director
Josephine founded Youth For Youth in 2008 after almost 10 years of volunteering with organisations such as The World Childhood Foundation and Mentor Foundation. She actively worked with young people at both foundations doing fundraising and creating new programmes in the US and South America.
Josephine has lived all over the world and speaks 5 languages. She is a writer and is currently working on her first book. In addition to writing she has also produced 5 plays on the West End and remains heavily involved in the entertainment industry. She tries to balance her love for film and writing with her passion for youth work.
Anderson Zapata Diaz -- Capoeira Coach and Youth Mentor
Anderson is from Medellin, Colombia and brings over 10 years of working with disadvantaged youth to the organsiation. He is a Professor of Capoeira and a REPS level 3 personal trainer.
He arrived in the UK to work for Youth For Youth and brought his expertise of martial arts and working with young people to Europe. Since his arrival he has taught over 500 young people and given many of them discipline and a focus in life.
His philosophy is that if you can help one kid you can most likely help more you just have to be patient and try.
Jane Ithier-Aimee-- Programme Co-ordinator/ Project Manager
Jane is originally from Mauritius. She graduated University of East London with a BSc in Sport Development. Jane brings a wide range of experience and knowledge in working with children and young people from different age range and background.
She also works as a multi sports coach within Newham, as a Kids Activity Instructor and event organiser as well as a Multi Skills Coach in different Schools within the Newham Borough.
Janes passion lies in helping children and young people to increase their learning and to help them discover their talents and potential.
Mamadu Camara - Youth Leader
Mamadu is a BSc. (Hons) computing student at University of East London. He speaks fluent Portuguese and English and loves working with people from diverse backgrounds.
In the future he plans to be a software developer and web designer.

Ismael Borja --Youth Leader
Ismael goes to Stratford college. He love sports, especially Capoeira and Muay Thai. Ismael has been with Youth For Youth since the beginning and started as a youth leader in May 2009.
Christine Lofberg -- Chairman & Trustee
Christine came aboard as Chairman after having known Josephine Genetay for over 15 years. They grew up together in Sweden and Christine always had a vision to get involved in a pioneering youth initiative.
Christine is the founder and director of Chraft communications in London and brings her extensive network and excellent entrepreneurial skills to the organisation.
Kevin Jenkins -- Secretary & Trustee
Kevin joins Youth For Youth with 30 years experience of initiating, developing and running community organisations within the inner city.
He is the Co-Founder of Community Linkswhich has developed into one of the top 100 charities in the UK. He has been elected Councillor for 23 years and Primary and Secondary school Governor (including 16 years as Chairman) and Trustee of London Play.
Specialised in children and young peoples services and issues, regeneration, capital projects, social enterprises and community engagement and enablement, Kevin was awarded the OBE for services to children and young people in 1999, Beacon Community Builder of the Year winner 2008 and Overall Beacon Fellowship Award winner 2008
Elspeth Gilfillan -- Trustee
Elspeth Elspeth has worked in fundraising for 10 years, both at NSPCC working on the FULL STOP Campaign and also more recently atFields in Trust.
Her experience with both charities has involved working primarily in the sports sector. She brings extensive knowledge on funding and the third sector to Youth For Youth. Elspeth has just moved into the commercial sector as Sponsorship and Marketing manager for Sportworks UK.
She is a keen football fan, runner and also loves travelling.
Andrei Tretyakov -- Trustee
Andrei is originally from Russia and Kazhakstan. He studied in the US and graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Finance and International Business.
In 2003 Andrei joined Kazakhmys and played a key part in its listing on London Stock Exchange. Currently Andrei is Head of Business Development and M&A for Kazakhmys PLC, leading team of 10 professionals, overseeing all significant corporate action. Andrei's passion is art in its many forms.
He owns a gallery in Central London. Andrei supports Youth For Youth because he sees how Capoeia as an art form helps young people achieve their potential.
Michael Norton -- Senior Advisor
Michael Norton, OBE, is the Honorary Director and a Trustee of CIVA.
He founded the Directory of Social Change in 1975. DSC is the UK's leading agency providing information, training and support to voluntary organisations.
He co-founded Changemakers in 1994 to find new ways of engaging young people in social action.
Additionally he founded YouthBank UK in 1998 to enable young people to act as grant-makers. He co-founded UnLtd, the foundation for social entrepreneurs, which received the £100 million Millennium Legacy as an endowment.
He advises Youth For Youth on a regular basis and has been monumental for our development.
Jill Morgan -- Special Advisor
Jill used to work for New Directions running the Capoeira project. She was one of the first people to believe in the programme and promote it in the borough.
Jill advices on mental health, domestic abuse, and alcohol and drug issues and remains involved advising on young peoples issues and participation.
